About Nature+ Coalition

Our Vision

We envision a world where ecosystems are preserved, restored, and managed sustainably.

They are the living foundations of climate stability, biodiversity resilience, and human well-being. Guided by science and cooperation, we work to ensure that nature regains its central place in global climate and biodiversity strategies.

Our Mission

Nature+ Coalition is a non-profit international association dedicated to the conservation, restoration, and protection of ecosystems across the globe.

We strive to ensure that Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are recognized and implemented as credible, science-driven, and equitable tools for delivering the objectives of the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Through dialogue and cooperation, we connect project developers, companies, and stakeholders with decision-makers to co-design policies and standards advancing integrity and impact in the voluntary and regulated carbon markets.

By fostering collaboration across sectors, the Coalition builds a unified voice for nature-positive climate action, highlighting the role of natural carbon sinks — forests, soils, wetlands, and oceans — within integrated climate and biodiversity strategies.

How we work

From technical positions to real-world impact

The coalition operates on a simple cycle: members identify the regulatory battles that matter for Nature-based Solutions, working groups produce positions, the Board validates and signs, and the coalition engages decision-makers — then we publish, share with members, and start the next cycle.

1

Working groups

Topic-based working groups (Article 6, CRCF, EU 2040, high-integrity standards) gather member expertise to draft technical positions and responses to public consultations.

2

Board validation

The Board — composed of representatives from each founding member — reviews every position, ensures alignment with the coalition's principles, and signs off before publication.

3

Advocacy & engagement

Validated positions are presented to the UN (Article 6 supervisory body), EU institutions (CRCF, EU 2040), and soft-law bodies (ICVCM, VCMI, SBTi) through papers, panels, and bilateral meetings.

4

Knowledge sharing

Published papers, briefings and intelligence on Article 6, CRCF and the EU 2040 climate target flow back to members so each can align their own strategy with the latest regulatory reality.

Our Current Governance

The Nature+ Coalition is governed by a Board ensuring strategic coherence, transparency, and alignment with our mission.

The Board comprises representatives of founding members combining expertise in ecosystem conservation, climate policy, and sustainable finance.

  • Ensure environmental integrity by advocating for high-integrity criteria in carbon methodologies under European and international frameworks (e.g., CRCF and Article 6).
  • Promote corporate transparency and credible communication around carbon credits and impact traceability.
  • Raise awareness and engage decision-makers on the crucial role of NbS in addressing climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainability transitions.
  • Collaborate across regions to ensure that global standards remain fair, inclusive, and scientifically sound.
